Damn! How does the saying go? "If it ain't one thing, it's another!" Never in a million years, could I have ever imagined that two parents could go off into two entirely different directions in life. I used to think that after my child custody battle, that the only other thing I had to worry about was my divorce. Yet, the fact that my daughter's Mom, could forget our little girl's birthday, despite the fact that she carried her for 9 months, makes me sad and angry and that same time. I realize now, more than ever, that I will need to do as much of this myself as I can. I can only depend on my family and I cannot let my daughter get hurt by her mother again. As if my divorce battle on February 21st, weren't enough to worry about.
Still, even when it may seem that life is getting me down, I have to remind myself that no matter what, It's out of my hands and GOD is in control of everything. Thank You Cheryl, Donna, Kayla, Cynthia, M. Ellen Rich, Maiesha, Ed, Phil, Cassandra, Flor, Mz. Cristina, Sonia, Davina, Anita, Ioane, Nona, Andre, May and everyone else for reminding about what is truly important. I believe that everyone is in need of prayer no matter what their situation in life may be. For this reason, I ask for all of your prayers as HE determines what will be and what will happen as i will pray for all of you. I'm here because of the choices I made, not because someone else decided my life 4 me! I will not let anything or anyone come between me, my relationship with GOD or my daughter.
One thing I've learned in my, life when it comes to relationships is.. You can never do too much research on a person. It's a way to separate from the sociopathic and depressing groups of people (AMEN). Had I learned that earlier, my child would not have been subjected to an already hectic life.
Family is wonderful, friendship is great, Love is amazing, but the one constant that will stay in your life, no matter how old you will get is GOD/ALLAH/JEHOVAH/JAH/The Mighty One/THE ALPHA & OMEGA (Whichever you prefer)
Three things I cannot live without: God in my life, My daughter Safiyah Zaria-Pearl, & Family Everything else can be easily replaced because it's material.
I've had a blessed life. GOD loves me because I'm here as a living testimony. I'm a BLACK man, 35, who isn't dead, hasn't been shot, never been in jail and as of August 30th of this year; will never have to be sent overseas to fight for an unjust cause. PRAISE GOD! I have a beautiful daughter.. The only thing missing is my soulmmate and I'm confident that HE will provide that missing ingredient when HE deems it's time!
