Ares Hino is a fan-made character and never appears officially in the Sailor Moon anime or manga. He was created for roleplay purposes and this page is a fictional biography that recounts many of his adventures during his sessions with various roleplay encounters in IMVU and other places.

How does he/she dress? He always wears a monocle on his right eye as a fashion choice he picked up to make him look like a very distinguished Prosecuting Attorney. What he usually wears in casual clothing is a jacket and jeans. When on business, however, he's in business suits and looks rather noble when in them.

Bio: Ares Hino is the brother of Rei Hino (Sailor Mars). His attacks are based around fire and lethal hand-to-hand contact. What he lacks in spiritual strength that his sister has, he makes up for in analytical thinking. He's quite good at dissecting arguments, pointing out inconsistencies in stories and can usually tell when someone is trying to lie to him. When he was younger, his father took him away and left Rei with her grandfather. Ares was used as a ploy to for his father's political campaigns. His father never let Ares contact his sister or grandfather, leaving him to study law quite heavily and often. Ares became a prosecuting attorney and has put away some of the biggest political opponents of his father, finding many of them guilty of a number crimes ranging from bribery to physical assault. It wasn't before his father's own wrongdoings would catch up to him and Ares himself would close the book on his father, taking the case, dissecting him in court and making sure he received the harshest punishment imaginable for all the crimes he committed in his campaign. After winning the trial, Ares decided to move on from his father's shadow, returning to Tokyo to try and re-establish family relations with his grandfather and sister. His transformed state as Assassin of Mars changes his appearance quite drastically. His mouth and nose are concealed under a mask while most of his body is cloaked under a dark aura. He moves at lightning quick speed and has an arsenal of throwing knives, smoke bombs, explosive tags, and flammable wires. He can also form a bow and arrow made of flame like Mars' flame sniper but instead of a normal bow, he forms two flaming crossbows on each wrist, still allowing him to fight close range with his twin daggers.

Hobbies: Puzzles of any kind, chess, crossword, word search, Sudoku. He also enjoys getting into passionate, respectful and good willed debates and listening to moving and inspiring speeches. He also enjoys meditating as it's helped clear his mind on some really sticky cases where he might've missed a key clue or point.

Devices/Weapons

Twin Daggers Fear and Panic: When not transformed, the daggers are actually one piece which happens to be a sword hilt with no blade. It is useless in anyone else's hands. However, when the trigger words are spoken by Ares, both he and the hilt transform, the hilt separating and becoming two vicious daggers. Ares uses these twin blades when performing various attacks. It can also deflect energy attacks and even destroy them when making contact with the blade.

Flame Hunter: Twin Crossbows Completely made of flame that form on command on Ares' forearms. Ares can mix up attacks by hiding a throwing knife or explosive tag inside of the flame arrow.

Powers

Flame Strike (Dagger), Fire Soul Arrow (Crossbow): Flame Strike is an attack with either dagger with fire imbued within it. Fire Soul Arrow is a type of ammunition used by the Flame Hunter bow. It fires small fireballs in the shape of arrows rapidly at the target.

Fallen Phoenix Crush (Dagger), Flame Bolas (Crossbow): Ares is able to grow flame wings and use them for flight. With the momentum and speed, he can land a devastating diving fire stab on the enemy. For the Crossbow Ammo, Ares shoots out an explosive bola that wraps itself around the enemy. After a short period of time, the bola explodes and deals explosive fire damage in a small radius around the target.

Flame Slasher (Dagger) Cluster Arrow (Crossbow): Ares sends two flaming arcs of energy from his swords. If it makes impact, the arc continuing to burn into the target before finally exploding, causing a flaming tremor. The ammunition used for Cluster Arrow causes the Flame Hunter to fire clusters of flaming arrows rapidly at the target.

Blade of Blood (Dagger), Flare Arrow (Crossbow): Blade of Blood is a dangerously powerful finishing that when it impales the enemy, it releases a burst of powerful flame, causes the target to erupt into fire. When summoning the flames for Blade of Blood, Ares' reaction time and speed become heightened as he seeks to impale one or both of his daggers into the chest of his adversary. Flare Arrow is similar to Mars Flame Sniper except that this attack, when it makes contact, it sticks into the wound and continues to pump flames into the target, wrapping it up gradually before totally engulfing the target in flame.

Grand Fireball: A powerful projectile that Ares can use almost anytime. While he can use two fingers to direct the burst of flame, all Ares needs to do to unleash the attack is blow out the flames from his mouth. He can perform this despite his mask covering his mouth as the flame will appear coming out from his mask.

Raven Flame: When transformed into his Prince State, Grand Fireball becomes the dangerously powerful Raven Flame. The flame will continuously burn until either the target is destroyed or remain for several hours until finally fizzling out.

Eternal Flame: Only available when Prince Ares activates his last resort - God of War's Shadow. Eternal Flame launches meteorite sized fireballs from the sky that can't even be quenched by water (it instantly evaporates any that comes in contact with it)

Raven Clone: Ares can create identical clones of himself that can't be told apart until they are struck down. Used mostly as a defensive measure, it can also be used to launch sneaky attacks. If a clone is destroyed, it disperses into a flock of ravens that fly away

Raven's Eye: A technique that causes the victim to hallucinated. The user's will determines how long they hallucinate. This can only occur when eye contact is met with Ares.

Raven's Glare: A more potent version of Raven's eye when used by Ares' Prince state.

God of War's Shadow: When in peril, Prince Ares calls upon his last resort -- a defensive and offensive ability called God of War's Shadow. A protective shroud protects Ares from damage while the shroud can be manipulated into weapons to strike back. While it can shield damage fairly well, excessive damage will take its toll on Ares. The strength of the shroud in terms of physical power is extremely potent as it similar to being struck by a wrecking ball.

This section is a Street Fighter Alpha 3 styled recount of the roleplay plot that I've salvaged. Each character of mine had their own story so check each homepage for their own dialogue if you're interested

Beginning Storyline:

Ares Hino, the brother of Rei Hino. Like his sister, he has a transformation state known as Mars Assassin. However, he is unable to utilize this state after a terrible battle with the Sailor Senshi that saw many of his friends either die or become exiled. In order to remain in the city, he agrees not to use his power.

Recently, however, his civilian life as a prosecuting attorney has led him to many crime scenes and court cases that left many baffled.

After months of gathering intel, he pursues two targets: a being calling himself "The Thunder King." and a "Red-haired boy"

As he dives deeper into this investigation, his encounter with the Thunder King nearly sees him and a squad of agents killed by this threat. Realizing his civilian life can no longer pursue these violent targets safely, the only alternative left to him is to become 'The Assassin of Mars' again in order to protect not only his civilian life but countless civilians as well...

He knows this choice will have severe consequences with the Sailor Senshi...

"You're not allowed to be here in that form. Leave now and I'll pretend this never happened."

Ares Hino:

"Can't do that. A bunch of civilians were nearly killed because of you and the others failed to deal with this 'Thunder King.' threat."

Sailor Mars:

"Thunder what? This isn't your typical murder case, Ares. This is strictly a Sailor Senshi issue, so stay out of it. I won't tell you again."

Ares Hino:

"You're hiding something from me. I want to know the truth. All of it. Now."

Sailor Mars:

"Oh, I'll give you ALL the 'Truth' you can handle! And by truth, I mean a Flame Sniper between your eyes!"

[after the battle]

Sailor Mars:

"Ugh..."

Ares Hino:

"I told you. I've been on this case for months. Just let me do my job and find the Thunder King..."

Sailor Mars:

"The Thunder King...? No... we're after someone else... a red-haired boy..."

Ares Hino:

"Red haired boy? That's new. Could they be connected somehow...?"

Sailor Mars:

"I can't tell you anything about a Thunder King, but I did have a premonition... During my prayers, I had visions of a boy with red hair, and the Dark Kingdom rising behind him. I believe it was a warning that this boy is trying to resurrect them!"

Ares Hino:

"Things have just gone from bad to worse..."

Sailor Mars:

"If... if you're really that serious about this... about helping the planet... then I'll tell you what I can. Sailor Mercury got us a lead on the boy's most likely location..."

Destined Battle: Leaf Kino

Ares Hino:

"Leaf Kino, I order you to stand down! I know you're the Thunder King and that you've been brutalizing random citizens with your powers! (Being exiled after finding his sister must've sent him over the edge... after the information Rei gave me, I was able to figure out this guy was Leaf.)"

Thunder King:

"Hehehehe... hahahaha! So, a voluntary sacrifice to my eternal reign as Thunder King? To think that the red haired boy was going to be my first!"

Ares Hino:

"The red haired boy? What's his part in this?"

Thunder King:

"His part? Everything! He's the bastard of Queen Beryl and Prince Endymion! He's trying to reform our common enemy, the Dark Kingdom! But I will not allow him to take control of what is mine! He will meet his end at my hand and pay tribute to my cause!

Ares Hino:

"You're the one who's going to meet their end, Thunder King! As the Prince of Mars, I will be the one to stop you!"

[after the battle]

Leaf Kino:

"Ah... ahhh..."

Ares Hino:

"He transformed back... are you okay, Leaf? Can you hear me?"

Leaf Kino:

"A... Ares... h... he's gone... he's finally... gone..."

Ares Hino:

"It's okay. Catch your breath and then tell me what happened."

Leaf Kino:

"Wh-when I was younger, this scary presence told me that one day I would become him... and that I would rule over everything whether they liked it or not. Whenever I got sad or scared, the louder and louder his voice became..."

Ares Hino:

"He's been taunting you like this for years?"

Leaf Kino:

"Y-yes... He'd take my body while I slept and cause such chaos and destruction... destruction I'm sure your people have investigated. I... I tried to stop him... I tried as hard as I could to not lose control... but he... he was too strong... and when I was... broken hearted. He then took over and I thought it would be for good until..."

Ares Hino:

"Until... what?"

Leaf Kino:

"I heard another voice. And a vision appeared before me. He called himself... the Prince of Jupiter. He told me not to be afraid. That together, we could fight back the Thunder King and retake our lives. I asked why I should trust him... and he said... 'I'm you, Leaf. I'm your courage and sense of justice.' So we fought back the Thunder King and for a while, everything was fine... until..."

Ares Hino:

"The red haired boy... He has something to do with this..."

Leaf Kino:

"The Thunder King became restless and overpowered us in desperation... that our old enemy was returning and only he will do what was necessary for the survival of his kingdom."

Ares Hino:

"You have nothing more to worry about, Leaf. The Thunder King is gone. And now all that's left is for me to take care of this red haired boy".

Leaf Kino:

"W-Wait... I can help... we can fight him together... we can..."

Ares Hino:

"Sorry, my friend, but you're in no condition to fight. Just be on look out and make sure no one disturbs us. I don't want any innocent victims to get caught in the cross fire while I stop this boy from reforming the Dark Kingdom."

Leaf Kino:

"O-okay... good luck, Ares..."

Final Boss: Sethos Beryl

Sethos Beryl:

"You... The privileged Prince of Mars who lived in the shadow of a corrupt politician... You, who benefited from the suffering of others while destroying more and more lives... You, who stabbed his own father in the back... You, who continues to steal lives and wrongfully convicts innocent men and women... You, who claims to seek the truth but could careless if your remaining family suffers... You, who denied having anything to do with the Sailor Senshi or the royalty of Mars... You, who only took responsibility recently to benefit your false pursuit of truth and justice... you dare stand against ME with your false morals, your fake bravado... can you truly strike me down in the name of justice when you have wronged and violated so many innocents?"

Ares Hino:

"Interesting... you're making me feel like I'm the one on the witness stand here, young man. But this is where I must object since the evidence you have before you has been twisted into an appearance that makes me look like the villain here. Yes, my father was a corrupted politician but his payment as he served his terms in government went into my education. For years, I was unaware of what he had been doing but ultimately when I became a Prosecuting Attorney, I ended his corrupt and sent him to prison without any hesitation. Our legal system isn't perfect, however, as man itself is not perfect. Have there been innocents that have been prosecuted? Yes, there have been cases and when found, reparations are given. As for my remaining family, I was under the impression that my father had sent gifts to my sister and money to my grandfather to help take care of her and her schooling. I had no idea what went on there... all I know is that she's been bravely fighting the forces of darkness even at a young age while I was running all over the country with a corrupt asshole. But now, I finally know what I have to do as a member of the royal house of Mars... I can't let you get away with this, Sethos!"

Sethos Beryl:

"You can try and act as tough and as mighty, but that's all it is with you, Ares Hino. You've had a silver spoon in your mouth ever since your mother died. You've been pampered and billed as the future by your father. You know nothing of hardship, of pain, of suffering, of betrayal! My mother was betrayed by her prince! She joined the Dark Kingdom because they were the only ones to take her in after my father betrayed her! Justice is on my side! Truth is on my side! All that awaits you is death, Ares! It's time for you to die and be reunited with your mother!"

[after the battle]

Ending: "The Verdict"

[Seth falls to his knees and then onto his side as he coughs up some blood. Ares approaches Seth and points his wrist crossbow down at him as a flaming arrow forms]

Sethos Beryl:

"...no... I... I can't be defeated... not like this..."

Ares Hino:

"Any last words before I snuff the life out of you and the future of the Dark Kingdom for good?"

Sethos Beryl:

"Last words... ha... So the prosecutor has become... the executioner... go on then... it's not like my words will change your mind anyway... you're so hell bent on killing me and convinced that I'm delusional that this is the only way..."

Ares Hino:

"...all I care about is the truth. You want to bring back the Dark Kingdom to destroy the Earth... it attracted the attention of the Thunder King who came to stop you and would have killed you without mercy if I didn't stop him. So let me make this as clear as I can to you, Sethos. Tell me the truth. Tell me why. And if I sense you're lying to me, I'm ending you right here, right now."

Sethos Beryl:

"Why... do you even care... what my reasons are..."

Ares Hino:

"I want to believe you fought with all your might for a cause you believe in and that you're not just some fanatical idiot who wants to bring back the Dark Kingdom because he think it'll be funny. From what I understand earlier, you told me it had something to do with your parents..."

[Seth is quiet for a long moments before he sighs and closes his eyes as he begins to recall the events]

Sethos Beryl:

"Queen Beryl... is my mother."

[Ares lowers his crossbow in surprise. Sethos doesn't make a move and simply continues]

Sethos Beryl:

"And Prince Endymion is my father. Before she joined the Dark Kingdom, my mother was a sorceress of the Earth and loved my father. My father betrayed my mother and married the Princess of the Moon. Broken hearted, my mother was taken in by the Dark Kingdom and they attacked the Moon."

Ares Hino:

"Wait, how do you know that?"

Sethos Beryl:

"What do you mean?"

Ares Hino:

"When were you born? Because as an infant, it'd be impossible for you to have these detailed and vivid memories and emotions... are they even yours?"

Sethos Beryl:

"Well, maybe my mother preserved these memories for me..."

Ares Hino:

"How do you know they weren't altered by your mother? It sounds a little too perfect that she'd pass these memories and her plans of revenge onto you."

Sethos Beryl:

"My mother wouldn't lie to me! She loved me! You're the ones who drove her to the darkness! She was betrayed!"

Ares Hino:

"Have you considered that maybe she's the one who betrayed the Earth and the prince?"

Sethos Beryl:

"What?! How dare you!"

Ares Hino:

"No, seriously, think about it. If your father is Prince Endymion, how could he betray the Earth when the Moon Kingdom is more or less their neighbor? And if your mother truly loved him, she would've continued serving the Earth right? Instead, she joined the Dark Kingdom in heart break. You know what translates to? Out of jealousy of being rejected, she betrayed the Earth and joined the Dark Kingdom."

Sethos Beryl:

"That... that... cannot be!"

[Ares turns away before looking up to the sky. He then takes out prayer beads and wraps it around his arm]

Ares Hino:

"I feel for you, Sethos. I really do. My mother died when my sister and I were really young. But after analyzing your story and pulling apart the inconsistencies, I've come to a conclusion. With this heirloom she gave me, I'm going to uncover the truth. I normally can't use this until I acquired enough knowledge and power, but after our fight and all the clues and inconsistencies revealed, it should be ready now. It's going to be difficult for you to hear, but this is the truth..."

[Ares then points the prayer beads to Seth as they begin to glow brightly. Memories are revealed before them as Ares narrates what they see]

Ares Hino:

"Your mother was in love with your father. But your father didn't have feelings for your mother in the way and instead fell in love with the Princess of the Moon. Your mother grew angry and hateful, joining the Dark Kingdom and betraying the Earth and attacking the Moon. The battle resulted in the moon turning into ruins but all of us being trapped in the silver crystal and reborn upon the earth. And these battles... and... what's this? Prince Endymion was brain washed and... oh. That's how you were conceived. You were Beryl's backup plan in the event that she failed..."

Sethos Beryl:

"...so... that's all my life was? Just revenge...? My birth was just... a plot... a one night stand born out of hatred and vengeance..."

Ares Hino:

"Don't let what your mother did dictate your future and what you should do. Your were misguided and used by someone who has been dead for years, Sethos. Before any of this happened, you were already your own person, weren't you? You can still be that person. Who cares who your parents are? My father was a corrupt politician and I put him in jail when he tried to use me to get out of his crime. You're absolved of all guilt from this whole Dark Kingdom plot, Sethos. Don't let this legacy define your life and who you are. You're better than that. If you truly want to get revenge, live well and love this planet."

Sethos Beryl:

"There's... there's still hope for me?"

Ares Hino:

"It's your life, Sethos. No one is making you do anything you don't want to do. Be strong."

Sethos Beryl:

"...thank you, Ares. I... I need some time to think..."

Ares Hino:

"Take your time. You'll find your way."

[Ares then walks out as the scene fades to black]

[Ares is standing on the balcony of an apartment complex at night, overlooking the city while having a cup of coffee in his hand]

Things are getting back to normal. My exile has been lifted though it hasn't stopped them from keeping a close eye on me.

Sethos decided to continue his schooling further in hopes of finding a proper education. He hopes the classes and experiences will answer the calling his feels inside.

[The scene cuts back to Ares standing on the balcony]

As for me, I'm glad I could make some positive changes in people's lives. Soon, I'll be back at work looking through paperwork and finding the truth. Whether the defendant is guilty or innocent, finding the truth is what matters the most to me. And honestly, I think that's the way it should be.

[The scene fades to black]
